    Donation of Medical Equipments by Japanese Government to Health Sector of Maldives

    At a ceremony held today at Ministry of Health, medical equipment worth 103,540,000 One hundred and three million five hundred and fourty thousand Japanese Yen (equivalent to MVR 14,246,344) were donated by Japanese Government to support and strengthen health sector of Maldives under Japanese Non Project Grant Aid. These medical equipment will be used in Atoll Hospitals and some selected Health Centers. The donation was handed over to Minister of Health Hon. Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim by His Excellency Mr. Kazumi Endo, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Maldives.

    Equipment received through this donation include equipment such as autoclaves, infant incubators, dental units and ventilators, which are useful medical equipments for service provision at health facilities.

    In 2013 medical equipment worth of 59.7 million Japanese Yen (MVR 7,744,625.48) were donated under the same project to the health sector of Maldives. And early this year, medical equipment worth 66,070,000 sixty six million seventy thousand Japanese Yen (MVR 9,340,352.89) were donated to Maldives health sector by Japanese government as well.
